/etc/network/interfaces

with 3 comments

I’m tired of constantly forgetting this ultra-advanced syntax:

iface eth0 inet static
  address 192.168.1.77
  netmask 255.255.255.0
  gateway 192.168.1.1

or, via DHCP:

iface eth0 inet dhcp

  3. well, that’s on the cli, not in any file šŸ™‚

    but you can put this in /etc/rc.conf

    ifconfig_rl0=”DHCP”
    ifconfig_fxp0=”inet 192.168.0.100 netmask 255.255.255.0″

    works the same šŸ™‚
